Case Description: Melissa Hammond homicide investigation

CSU provided the following inventory of items taken into evidence from the Missy Hammond homicide scene at 311 Elm Street.

Extensive trace evidence was recovered from the scene including 153 hairs, 877 full and partial fingerprints, and 1,026 fibers. All trace evidence is being analyzed for identification and results will be available within three weeks.

The Hammond crime scene remains sealed pending release by the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff’s Department and/or the Yoknapatawpha County District Attorney and/or defense counsel when identified.
